Meeting with grades five (5) and six (6) teachers on the provision of pre-recorded lessons for the Guyana Learning Channel

Today the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Dr. Marcel Hutson, met with teachers; Melinda Hughes, Martina Archer Semple, Daycia Hill and Milassa Benjamin to discuss the vision of the Ministry of Education (MoE) regarding the Guyana Learning Channel (GLC) and how they can contribute to its effectiveness.

Present at the meeting also were; Director, National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD), Ms. Quenita Walrond-Lewis, Head of the Guyana Learning Channel, Ms. Bibi Aniesha Mohamed and Technical Facilitator to the CEO, Mr. Kerwin Jacobs.
The Director of NCERD explained that the role of teachers will primarily be to develop and teach local content for grades five (5) and six (6) and to have all learners throughout Guyana accessing similar learning content via television channels and on other platforms.
The Head of the Guyana Learning Channel stated that personnel at the Guyana Learning Channel will work collaboratively with teachers towards ensuring pre-recorded lessons are submitted as scheduled.
